OUR STORY
Sian and Joel met at university whilst studying film & screen media. They had an instant rapport and eventually became a couple, joining forces to create 13th Street. Their career highlights include receiving Screen Australia development funding for a television series, The ‘C’ Word, enabling them to work with incredible industry mentors: Creative Producer Julie Eckersley and Screenwriter Roger Monk. The pilot episode was pitched to STAN by Continuance Pictures.
They also co-wrote and directed the six-part POV web series, Socially Distant, featuring comedy legend Darren Gilshenan, alongside local talents Candice Hill and Zara Goodman, which went on to receive over 200,000 total views and screened at the prestigious Melbourne Web Fest.
Recent successes include co-directing and producing the short thriller OUTPOST, which played at Darwin International Film Festival, and producing/directing Voyager, a short film/feature proof of concept which will Premiere at Beverly Hills Film Festival this April.
They are also the co-founders and directors of the Brisbane Indie Film Festival which celebrates independent cinema and genre film. The festival has perpetually grown in size and quality each season and is now entering it’s fourth year.
